Collaboration aims to bolster super fund cybersecurity

Transmit Security and Wrkr have joined forces to enhance cyber defences at Australia’s superannuation funds, which are increasingly being targeted by fraudsters.

Wrkr, a digital platform for super transactions, says the partnership aims to move funds from legacy systems and processes to a “more secure, agile and resilient approach to member security”.

CEO Trent Lund says the increasing sophistication of cybercriminals necessitates a robust, proactive defence strategy. “Our mission at Wrkr is to ensure that every contribution to our members’ super funds is secure and reaches its rightful destination.”

Transmit Security says its cyber solutions combine fraud prevention tools, customer identity management and capabilities that ensure a comprehensive security framework.

“Our technology is designed to anticipate and neutralise fraud attempts before they impact the end users,” regional VP Richard Metcalfe said. “We are providing super funds with the highest level of security and trust.”

AustralianSuper members were targeted by criminals attempting to redirect their funds in February, while a hack at Super SA last year affected thousands of members.
