Chubb, Smartpay join forces in Japan
Chubb and Tokyo-based fintech Smartpay have teamed up to develop digital insurance products for Japanese consumers.
They will provide solutions including embedded insurance, capitalising on high demand in Japan for efficient digital experiences, personalised insurance buying processes and real-time support.
“We are honoured to collaborate with Chubb’s world-leading team and insurance products to integrate with our leading Japanese payment and digital finance solutions,” Smartpay CEO and Founder Sam Pemberton-Ahmed said.
Smartpay’s Bank Direct allows customers to pay for online purchases straight from their bank accounts rather than using credit cards, and offers three payment instalments over eight weeks.
It has integrated with the 20 largest banks in Japan and more than 200 credit unions, and was developed with the Japan Electronic Payments Promotion Organisation.
Apple Pay and Google Pay are automatically integrated into Smartpay.
