BizCover invites Women in IT Scholarship applications

BizCover has invited applications for the latest round of a scholarship introduced to help support women entering the often male-dominated IT sector.

The Women in IT Scholarship is open to Australian-based female final year undergraduate students studying a bachelors degree in Business Information Systems, Advanced Computing, Design Computing or Computer Science and Technology.

“As our world becomes more digital and globalised, the need for IT workers is increasingly important,” BizCover Senior Business Analyst Czarina Recta says.

“However, only 28% of Australian IT employees are female, and only a quarter of IT graduates are female.”

The winner receives a one-off $3000 payment towards an invoice or service and an opportunity to work for BizCover in a three-month paid work placement program.

Applicants will need to describe in 1000 words an IT-related project they have previously been involved in or wish to pursue after university. Interviews will be conducted over Zoom.

Applications close on February 28 and the winner will be announced at 10am on March 14.

BizCover started the scholarship in 2018 and awards it twice a year.
