Australian insurtechs win awards

FloodMapp, Innovation Group Australia and TreeManager are the latest Australian insurtechs to be recognised with industry awards.

The team at FloodMapp received the 2021 Get Ready Queensland Resilient Australia Business Award, recognising its flood forecasting solution and close work with emergency services last wet season.

“One of the most exciting winners was Queensland start-up FloodMapp, which picked up the Business Award for developing real-time flood modelling software to help forecast peak river heights and inundation,” Queensland Reconstruction Authority CEO Brendan Moon said.

“I’d like to congratulate all the award entrants for their innovative approaches to disaster management and resilience building.”

Innovation Group Australia won the Fleet Safety Product Award at the seventh annual Australasian Fleet Champions Award for the Mentor app eDriving digital driver risk management program, which helps drivers understand their risky behaviours via telematic sensors in smartphones and a safe driving score.

The TreeManager App, a hub of native skilled arborists who efficiently fulfill insurance business, won at The Australian Business Awards. The app promises to quickly log locations, detailed value breakdowns, paperwork and invoices.

Hollard-backed Open Insurance recently won this year’s Excellence in Insurtech category at the FinTech Australia Finnie Awards while Codafication took out the ANZIIF Insurtech of the Year Award.
