AI-powered collision repair technology launched in Australia
New AI-powered collision repair technology Qapter VI has been launched in Australia by Solera’s automotive technology and data platform Audatex and its insurance technology brand ENData.
Qapter VI says it will increase automation and reduce cycle times using intelligent damage detection via guided image capture, reducing the cost of risk inspections. Repairer estimators receive an automatic initial assessment of vehicle damage, which can help speed parts ordering to improve cycle times and reduce parts fraud.
“Australia has always been highly regarded in the international automotive claims and vehicle repair segments, and Solera is excited to support the continued growth and digitisation of this dynamic market,” Solera APAC MD Chris Iacovou said.
Solera says the car insurance industry grew 1.3% over the last five years to $25.3 billion in revenue. As automotive insurers and repairs face a rise in the cost and complexity of repairs, automation is expected to replace up to half of claims activity in coming years.
Mr Iacovou says Solera’s solutions empower insurers, repairers and recyclers in Australia to digitise and improve the customer experience.
A touchless claim is now an expectation and customers want automated, accurate and efficient services for vehicle claims and repairs, he says.
“Auto insurance and collision repair industries will need to adopt new technologies to improve and facilitate their services,” he said.
Alongside Qapter VI, Solera is also launching a suite of vehicle lifecycle services in Australia, which it says is a "key market in the brand’s global expansion plans”.
Its technology solutions span insurance claims, vehicle servicing, repairs and recycling, and property insurance claims. It says it currently provides claims and supply chain management solutions to Australia’s top five insurers.
