Agile works with brokers on three niche products
Agile has worked closely with three local brokers to create niche liability products for courier drivers, transport contractors and short-term accommodation providers which are available on its online platform, Powered by Agile.
The Agile casualty department plans to expand the range through exclusive deals with specific brokers it is working with to build bespoke schemes for specialist niche products, or Agile-developed schemes that it says will be wholesaled more broadly.
Agile will host a free webinar on September 28 for brokers featuring presentation from Clyde & Co Partner David Lee and special counsel Morgan Campbell. It will explain Agile’s casualty risk appetite and the impact of contractual indemnity clauses and dual insurance when claims occur.
Agile worked closely with Brisbane-based transport industry specialist Sirius Insurance to deliver a pure liability product for transport contractors, which the brokerage packages with motor vehicle, transit and other insurances for clients.
“It’s much faster than doing stand-alone liability quotes and Agile got the technology up and running quickly,” Sirius Insurance Director Drew Campbell said.
The agreed rates for road freight operators across Australia and the ability to quickly quote and bind saved time, he said.
Agile also partnered with Homsure, a corporate authorised representative of Tasmanian-based Armstrong’s Insurance Brokers, to develop a tailored casualty product for short-term accommodation providers. That product was now being actively marketed, particularly in NSW, allowing short-stay accommodation providers to hold third-party injury or death insurance with $20 million limits.
The product, backed by one of Agile’s 13 binders, is expected to gain significant penetration in the short-term rental market and the pair plan to work together to develop more products for the short-term rental market.
Agile also provides for Melbourne-based Beyond Insurance Group a scheme for courier drivers.
Agile’s three-person casualty team, launched at the end of 2019, is made up of Head of Casualty Nate Sommer and experienced underwriters Steve Ross and Oliver Greally.
