Responding to broker feedback

Allianz Learn delivers tailored educational experiences to support brokers in their career.

Allianz has launched Allianz Learn, a structured initiative designed to consolidate and expand its broker training and professional development programs. Developed in direct response to broker feedback, the initiative reflects Allianz's recognition that ongoing education is a top priority for the industry. Through this initiative, Allianz has made a significant investment in learning and development, ensuring brokers have accessible, high-quality education opportunities throughout the year.

According to Allianz Australia's General Manager for Broker Distribution, Ben Church, "Our Allianz Commercial Team and technical experts have a wealth of knowledge on insurance industry issues, products, risks, underwriting topics, and more. Allianz Learn is enabling us to share knowledge, explore topical issues, and learn together with our broker partners."

Allianz Learn is comprised of various tailored and highly-relevant broker learning opportunities, ensuring that brokers at all stages of their careers have access to the resources they need to enhance their expertise professionally, grow personally and stay ahead of changes in the market.

These programs were developed following consultation with brokers, including industry-wide surveys and direct feedback from past training participants. Allianz recognised that while brokers value structured training, they also need flexible options that fit around their professional and personal commitments.

The initiative now brings together multiple training programs under one umbrella. Key components include the long-running Allianz Broker Training Series, the new Allianz All in Masterminds, the nomination-based Emerge Program, and  Women's Series events. Each program is designed to meet different broker needs, from technical product knowledge to professional skills and industry insights.

The Allianz Broker Training Series has been a staple for over a decade. With a rich history of success, this long-running program has evolved to offer brokers diverse perspectives from reputable speakers and leaders, focusing on topical industry subjects and the current business environment. Open to all brokers, the series offers both in-person and virtual options, making it widely accessible.

New to the lineup is Allianz All in Masterminds, a series of one-hour webinars covering product knowledge, risk engineering, emerging risks, and business insights, including their people. Brokers can register online for these regular sessions, which provide an opportunity to learn directly from Allianz experts.

The flexibility of these sessions allows brokers to participate without disrupting their daily workload, making professional development more accessible to busy brokers.

Each Mastermind session is ANZIIF and NIBA accredited, allowing brokers to earn CIP and/or CPD point per session, contributing to their ongoing education requirements.

Another key component of Allianz Learn is the Emerge Program, which is an annual program and specialised training experiences. Last year's program, developed in collaboration with Ernst & Young, Australia (EY), featured the EY HazardTM Simulation, offering brokers the opportunity to experience what it would be like to manage an insurance company in a competitive market environment.

The simulation has been well received, with one broker participant describing it as "an incredible experience" that provided valuable insights into complex insurance decision-making. "This is a wonderful program," added another participant, praising the program's "great mix of theory and networking."

The Women's Series is another exclusive offering that provides a networking and learning environment tailored for women in the industry. These events are hosted in most States and bring together industry leaders to share insights and experiences in a relaxed, supportive and fun environment for women.

Krista Peters, Market Delivery Specialist for Allianz Learn, emphasised the program's objective, stating, "The vision for this initiative is to provide brokers with continued support and easily accessible opportunities for them to develop, learn and grow. This initiative will provide them with opportunities to learn alongside us and expand their knowledge, skills, networks, and connections."

Brokers can access the Allianz All in Masterminds and the Broker Training Series through their Allianz representative. The Emerge Program is nomination-based, and the Women's Series Events are invitation-only.

By investing in broker education, Allianz is both supporting individual growth and contributing to the overall strength and adaptability of the insurance industry. This initiative helps brokers stay competitive and prepared for future challenges, ensuring they can provide the best possible service to their clients.

Allianz is committed to refining its learning initiatives based on ongoing broker feedback. The company continues to explore new ways to support brokers, giving them the knowledge and skills they need to keep up with the industry and its shifting demands.

For those interested in learning more or participating in upcoming sessions, Allianz encourages brokers to engage with their Allianz representatives.
