Zurich’s Longden to take up expanded CFO role

Zurich says Daniel Longden will take up an expanded CFO role for the group’s Life and Investments and General Insurance businesses across Australia and New Zealand, effective from the start of next month.

Mr Longden, who was appointed CFO for the Life and Investments business in November 2020, has more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including insurance, reinsurance, superannuation, platforms and investment management.

Zurich last July appointed Justin Delaney as Country CEO as it moved to put in place a unified leadership team across the life and investments and general insurance businesses.

In other appointments effective next month, Sean Walker is appointed Head of General Insurance, reporting to Mr Delaney and Matthew O’Sullivan is appointed Chief Underwriting Officer, General Insurance reporting to Mr Walker.

As reported by insuranceNEWS.com.au yesterday, General Insurance CFO Stuart Farquharson has been appointed CFO at NSW state-owned insurer icare, starting on October 11.

Mr Farquharson will be with Zurich until July.
