Zurich Insurance Group has made key appointments to its Asia-Pacific underwriting team.

Graham Johns, previously Australia and New Zealand technical director of general insurance underwriting, has become Asia-Pacific head of technical underwriting.

He reports to Alex Todd, who has become Asia-Pacific chief underwriting officer. Mr Todd was most recently Asia-Pacific head of short tail, commercial insurance, managing the property construction, upstream and downstream energy, and marine lines.

Zurich says Mr Todd and Mr Johns will oversee underwriting strategy, objectives and performance across the region.

“Alex and Graham bring extensive technical expertise and market experience, which will be instrumental in delivering excellence for our customers across the region,” head of commercial insurance and chief technical officer for Asia-Pacific Sean Walker said.
