WTW names New Zealand head

Global broker WTW has appointed Jill Comley-Forbes to lead its New Zealand business and she will start in January, replacing Michael Brown who will take up a new role focused on client-facing work.

Ms Comley-Forbes worked with Willis New Zealand for six years in the early 2000s and is currently Director of Broking at ICIB Brokerweb, an insurance and risk adviser.

“We are delighted to have Jill return to WTW…she is recognised in the market as a highly experienced industry leader, known for her demonstrated results in risk management and risk solutions,” WTW Head of Asia Pacific Simon Weaver said.

“Jill has an ability to drive success through building culture and engagement, which places her well in leading our WTW New Zealand team to move forward in the next phase of our business growth.”

Mr Weaver, who is also Head of Corporate Risk & Broking, Asia Pacific, says Mr Brown has contributed to the growth of the business and will continue to do so when he takes up his new role.

“Michael’s passion is working directly with clients, delivering unique solutions and client servicing strategies that add value and enable client businesses to grow,” Mr Weaver said.

“As he moves into a newly created, client facing leadership role, I would like to acknowledge the significant contribution that he has made to WTW, especially over the past few years.

“It is now an optimal time for a new leader to take the reins. Retaining Michael’s experience and profile within the New Zealand insurance market will be a valuable adjunct for Jill as she positions WTW for ongoing success.”

Mr Brown joined WTW in 2006 and has been CEO of the New Zealand business since June 2021, according to his LinkedIn.
