WTW appoints M&A head for financial lines business

Global broker WTW has appointed Steven Torresan as head of mergers and acquisitions in its financial and executive risks business for Asia-Pacific and Africa.

Mr Torresan, who is based in Sydney, previously led the broker’s Australasia M&A practice.

WTW says Mr Torresan brings “significant experience” to his new role, having worked as a lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright and then being a co-founder of Risk Capital Advisors, a specialist M&A broker in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. WTW acquired the broker in 2019.

He will continue to work closely with global head of M&A and private equity Alex Keville and head of M&A in Asia Terence Montgomery. He will also work with Guy Miller and Andrew Stubbing, who both co-founded Risk Capital Advisors and will now co-lead the M&A Australasia business in WTW’s financial and executive risks (FINEX) team.

“The new team structure allows us to leverage on our FINEX global lines of business, whose team of financial, executive and professional risk experts provide a wide range of specialist advice and services to companies in Asia-Pacific,” global head of FINEX Jeremy Wall said.

“This further enhances our client offerings both locally and regionally as the team works alongside specialist experts across all WTW’s global lines of business to provide companies with market-leading advice and insurance solutions to address their industry-specific risks.”
