Steadfast exec becomes NIBA president as Okely steps back
The National Insurance Brokers Association has named Steadfast’s Nick Cook as its new president, with Austbrokers ABS MD Rebecca Wilson becoming VP.
The pair were appointed at the association’s annual general meeting in Sydney today.
Mr Cook – Steadfast’s Australasian networks, broker and insurer services EGM – has served as the association’s VP since 2023 and will take over from the outgoing Gary Okely.
He says he looks forward to “building upon the great work under Garyʼs leadership, advocating on behalf of our members and the interests of brokers across Australia”.
Mr Okely will stay on the board as a representative for Marsh and says he is keen to work with Mr Cook and the board “to ensure NIBA continues to deliver as the ‘one voiceʼ of the broking profession”.
Association CEO Richard Klipin said: “On behalf of our members, I would like to thank Gary for his contribution to NIBA as the president and the significant impact he has made during his tenure.
“We are delighted that Gary will continue on the board as the immediate past president, providing his invaluable insights, guidance and leadership.”
Mr Klipin also welcomed new board members Greg Mullins, who is Envest CEO, and Willis Temby Insurance Brokers executive director Brett Piggott, who will be NIBA’s WA representative.
