Seven insurance lawyers switch to Wotton + Kearney

Seven insurance lawyers are leaving Sparke Helmore to join Wotton + Kearney’s Property, Construction and Energy department.

Partner Wes Rose will move across next week and is to be followed shortly afterward by his team, comprised of special counsel Anthony Mangafas and senior associates Marnie Hasler and James Sutherland, as well as associates Dena Patterson, Ryan Owens and Tshering Lama.

Wotton + Kearney’s Property, Construction and Energy group is led by Adam Chylek and now has six partners. It offers insurance market expertise across Power, Mining, Gas, Rail, Construction & Infrastructure, Renewables and Commercial and Industrial Property sectors.

Chief Executive Partner David Kearney says workflow has been boosted by huge investment in construction and infrastructure over the last decade. Commitments made by state and federal governments will continue that demand over the next 5-10 years, he says.

“By growing our market-leading team we can augment our current offering and respond to our clients’ immediate and future needs,” Mr Kearney said.

Mr Rose advises on insurance across construction, engineering, power generation, manufacturing, distribution and agriculture sectors. He says he has experience in “high-value subrogated recovery and dual insurance actions” and “speaks the language of insureds, adjusters and experts”.

“Wotton + Kearney’s sole focus on insurance law means it has absolute clarity in its vision and strategy,” Mr Rose said.
