RAA appoints new insurance chief
Tara Page has been appointed Insurance CEO at RAA after the departure of Tom Griffiths to the top role at Medical Insurance Group Australia (MIGA).
Adelaide-based Ms Page, who has been acting in the role since March, was appointed Chief Governance and Risk Officer last year and was formerly Company Secretary for both RAA and RAA Insurance. She joined RAA as General Counsel in 2017.
President and Chair Peter Siebels praised her commercial acumen and leadership.
“This year, RAA celebrates 100 years offering insurance and we’re confident Tara will help guide RAA Insurance in this chapter,” he said.
Mr Griffiths, who spent 15 years at RAA, took over as CEO at MIGA in April as Mandy Anderson departed after more than two decades.
Nick Reade remains RAA CEO, a position he has held since August. He formerly headed the Department of the Premier and Cabinet at the SA Government.
“I’ve experienced Tara’s capabilities first-hand and I don’t think RAA Insurance could be in better hands,” Mr Reade said. “Tara has a deep understanding of the industry and having worked alongside our insurance business for a number of years it will be a seamless transition.”
Ms Page said she was looking forward to improving the insurance offer and service for RAA’s 800,000 members at a time of unpredictable weather events, inflation and supply chain issues in motor and housing markets.
“RAA Insurance is tackling these challenges and I look forward to working with the team to keep delivering our award-winning level of service for RAA members,” Ms Page said. “It’s a privilege to be able to lead this business.”
