QBE claims stalwart moves to MLC
QBE Insurance GM Claims Strategy Andrew Beevors has been appointed MLC Life Insurance Chief Claims Officer.
The life insurer made the announcement today, saying he will start on August 16, reporting to CEO Rodney Cook.
Mr Beevors has been with QBE for more than 16 years, holding several roles including head of workers’ compensation claims and head of strategy and claims transformation, according to his LinkedIn account.
He is also currently the insurer’s National Manager for Workers’ Compensation Claims. He joined QBE in 2005 as state manager WA Workers’ Compensation and later moved on to other roles with the insurer.
Mr Beevors replaces Jane Dorter, who has been on secondment since April last year from her leadership role at KPMG’s Insurance Claims Solutions and Workplace Health division.
As Chief Claims Officer, he will be responsible for all aspects of claims handling and management and lead a team of more than 300 claims professionals.
MLC Life Insurance says Mr Beevors played a key role in modernising QBE’s workers' compensation claims model and more recently, he oversaw the "re-imagining" of QBE’s general insurance claims offering, delivering market leading customer experiences.
Mr Cook says the appointment will be important to help fulfil the insurer’s ambition to build the industry’s leading claims function.
“Our ambition is to be Australia’s leading and most trusted life insurer,” Mr Cook said. “What underpins that is delivering for our customers with speed, fairness, and empathy when they need it most – at claim time."
