IAG executive Phuong Ly will move to QBE in February as Chief Underwriting Officer, Australia Pacific.

Mr Ly has held a number of roles with IAG over the past decade spanning underwriting, portfolio management, agencies and broker distribution. Most recently he was EGM Business Distribution, based in Sydney.

Previously Mr Ly held positions with AIG and Munich Re, where he specialised in construction and engineering.

“His extensive industry experience is complemented by a strong focus on customer-centricity and an entrepreneurial drive,” Australia Pacific CEO Vivek Bhatia said today.

He says Mr Ly will play a key role as QBE seeks to become a “stronger, simpler, more customer-focused insurer”.

Mr Ly was appointed to the position after the previous incumbent Declan Moore was appointed Chief Customer Officer, New Zealand and Pacific, earlier this year.
