Open, ahm agree car and home cover partnership
Hollard-backed insurtech Open will administer two new general insurance products for health insurer ahm.
Sydney-based Open will manage everything from quote to claim on ahm’s new car and home cover, while the health insurer will promote the fully branded products to its customers and the wider Australian market.
The two newly launched products, underwritten by Hollard, will sit alongside ahm’s health, travel and life insurance options. Open says this will create a “simple one-stop-shop for budget savvy Aussies and their insurance needs”.
Open CEO Jason Wilby says the pair shared a vision for simple, technology-powered car and home insurance that would “deliver significant value for customers”. Open was founded in 2016 by Mr Wilby and Jonathan Buck, who started Huddle Insurance together.
“Powered by our unique end-to-end technology, we’ll provide ahm customers with innovative products,” he said.
ahm Senior Executive Rob Deeming says COVID-19 has reinforced the need for “flexible, simple” insurance. ahm and Medibank health insurance customers get up to 15% off car and up to 30% off combined home and contents insurance policies, he says.
