National Transport Insurance (NTI) has announced the appointment of Zurich’s Nick Dendrinos as its Head of Motor.

NTI says the experience Mr Dendrinos brings to the newly-created role will reaffirm its position as a leading specialist insurer in heavy vehicle and motor, mobile plant and equipment, and marine cargo and liability.

Mr Dendrinos worked with Zurich for almost 13 years, most recently as head of motor Australia and New Zealand, and has 30 years’ motor insurance experience.

He says he was keen to join an award-winning company that “lives and breathes” transport and logistics.

A Zurich spokesman confirmed Mr Dendrinos has left the company.

“Nick was a strong contributor to our market-leading commercial motor proposition and he leaves with our best wishes.”

It is understood the head of motor role is currently under review, but that an internal and external search for a replacement will likely begin shortly. In the meantime, Head of Marine Matt O’Sullivan has taken on additional responsibility for motor.
