The Underwriting Agencies Council has named Michael Edmonds as chair following its annual general meeting in Sydney yesterday.

Mr Edmonds, EGM commercial at transport specialist NTI, takes over from Austbrokers’ Heath Amber, who remains on the board as a director.

The board also comprises Colin Fagen from Blue Zebra as deputy chair, Troy Filipcevic from Emergence as treasurer and Anthony Porter from AFA Insurance as company secretary/public officer.

New directors are Anita Lane (Solution Underwriting), Peter Klemt (PassportCard Australia) and Jason Clarke (360 Underwriting), while Jeanene Hill from Market Lane Group is continuing.

“The expertise, wealth of experience, dedication and commitment from the board will undoubtedly drive innovation and growth for our members and the wider industry in the year ahead,” CEO Jenny Bax said.

UAC has thanked retiring directors Simon Lightbody from Rhodian Group and Emily Walker from Axis Underwriting.

“Their leadership and dedication has been invaluable, leaving a lasting legacy that we will continue to build on,” Ms Bax said.
