NSW insurance regulator names new CEO
The NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) has appointed Adam Dent as its new CEO, following the departure of Carmel Donnelly.
Mr Dent has extensive experience across public, private and not-for-profit organisations and joins SIRA from his current role as CEO of the NSW Trustee & Guardian.
“Having spent much of his career focused on helping people who are vulnerable or experiencing difficult times, Adam is a great fit for SIRA,” Chairman Trevor Matthews said.
Ms Donnelly is moving to become Chair of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal and her last day with SIRA is June 9.
Mr Dent starts with SIRA on July 5, and Executive Director Strategy and Governance and Chief Customer Officer Theresa Fairman will be acting CEO in the intervening period.
“The SIRA board would like to express its sincere appreciation to Carmel Donnelly for her outstanding leadership over the last four years,” Mr Matthews said.
“She has been instrumental in establishing SIRA as a customer-focused regulator and steering the agency in a complex landscape.”
