The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) Broker of the Year award for SA/NT has been won by Thomas Insurance Brokers MD Gary Thomas, while the region’s Young Broker of the Year award went to Guardian Insurance Brokers Account Executive Adam Luppino.
Winners of the 2023 national awards – QBE sponsored Broker of the Year and Vero sponsored Young Broker of the Year – will be revealed on October 8-10 at the NIBA Convention at The Star, Gold Coast.
Mr Thomas competes against Queensland’s SB Protect Insurance Partner Lisa Shanta, WA’s Grace Insurance Director Frans du Plessis, NSW’s Finsura Senior Account Manager Barry Sonter and Marsh Corporate & Commercial Leader Victoria Nick Hodges.
“Gary has been recognised for his dedication to client advocacy and technical excellence, and we look forward to seeing what he achieves next,” QBE Australia Pacific MD Business Elliot Hill said.
New Generation Insurance Solutions MD Samantha Yates and Guardian Insurance Brokers Account Executive Shannan Gardner were SA/NT Broker of the Year finalists.
Young Broker winner Mr Luppino will now compete nationally with Queensland’s East West Insurance Brokers Head of Business Development Taylor Burstow, Aviso WA Insurance Brokers Account Executive Justin Purslowe, NSW’s Network Insurance Group Account Director Joel Morrell and Victoria’s Marsh Principal Corporate Olivia Hancock.
"Adam has already demonstrated he is a true leader. His passion for the insurance profession, ability to think outside the box and willingness to go the extra mile for his clients makes him a worthy winner,” Vero State Distribution Manager SA/NT Shane Butcher said.
NIBA CEO Philip Kewin says the achievements of the SA/NT award winners are an indication of the depth of talent in the broking profession.
“The awards are an excellent avenue to celebrate the achievements,” he said. “We congratulate all the finalists for their commitment to professionalism.”
