NIBA names WA broker awards finalists
GSK Insurance Brokers Senior Account Manager Jeff Booth, Marsh Managing Principal Sarsha Neal and Imperium Insurance & Financial Solutions MD Sumit Sopori are in the running to be crowned this year’s WA Broker of the Year.
The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) also today revealed the competitors for Young Professional Broker of the Year honours in WA: Albany District Insurance Brokers Account Executive Luke Cameron, Knightcorp Insurance Brokers Account Executive Joel Middleton and Risk Guidance Insurance MD and Founder Robbie Gibbs.
The WA winners will be announced during a gala lunch on July 9 at Crown Perth ahead of national award presentations at the NIBA Convention, to be held at The Star Gold Coast October 11-12.
In other states, the winners for Queensland will be awarded at a NIBA gala lunch in Brisbane on Wednesday July 14 and NSW/ACT winners in Sydney on Friday July 16.
Queensland finalists for Broker of the Year are:
- Austbrokers Comsure Senior Insurance Advisor David Kimber
- Aon Client Manager Tamara Trotman
- Crucial Insurance and Risk Advisors MD Tony Venning
NSW/ACT finalists are:
- Marsh Head of FINPRO Craig Claughton
- Driessen Insurance Brokers MD Leo Driessen
- Arma Insurance Brokers Hunter Valley MD Amanda Morris
The winners from each of those trios will join Capital Innovation Chairman Ian Goninon – the Victorian/Tasmanian Broker of the Year – and winners from WA and SA/NT in competing for the 2021 national Stephen Ball Memorial Award, which is sponsored by QBE.
This year’s Queensland finalists for Young Professional Broker are:

- Cornerstone Risk Group MD Business Development Scott Mitchell
- Crucial Insurance & Risk Advisors Broker Alishia Oliver
NSW/ACT finalists are:
- Markey Insurance & Risk Senior Account Executive Megan Farmer
- Ian Jones Insurance Brokers Newcastle Account Broker Kayla Smith
- Warren Saunders Insurance Brokers Broking Operations Manager Lindsay Turner
The two winners from those groups will compete alongside Integral Insurance Services’ Mitchell Wight – this year’s Victorian/Tasmanian Young Professional Broker – and the WA and SA/NT winners for the national Warren Tickle Memorial Award, which is backed by long-term sponsor Vero.
