NIBA appoints new leadership team
The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has appointed Vice President Eric Harris as its new President, replacing Tim Wedlock, who will remain on the board.
Mr Harris, who has served on the board of NIBA since June 2012, is COO of Business Operations at Aon. He has worked at Aon for the past 20 years in various roles, including national manager and director of client service support.
Dianne Phelan, Group Operations Manager at BJS Insurance Group, replaces Mr Harris as Vice President. She has held various positions throughout NIBA, including Chairman of the South Australian Divisional Committee.
The board and CEO Dallas Booth welcomed both appointments.
Ms Phelan warns that the next two years will continue to throw considerable challenges at NIBA.
Mr Wedlock also served as NSW Division Representative on the board, and Rebecca Wilson has been appointed to fill that position.
“Rebecca is a former winner of the Warren Tickle Memorial Award for Young Professional Broker of the Year, and has served NIBA for a number of years on the Young Professionals Committee and the Divisional Committee, most recently as Deputy Chair,” Mr Booth said.
Both Ms Wilson and Mr Wedlock hail from the Austbrokers network, as GM Austbrokers ABS, and MD Austbrokers AEI respectively.
