New Lloyd’s general representative takes ICA board seat

Incoming Lloyd’s General Representative Tracey Bryan has been made a Non-Executive Director of the Insurance Council of Australia.

The council says Ms Bryan will replace Lloyd’s Regional Head of Australia and New Zealand Chris Mackinnon, who joined the board in 2017.

Mr Mackinnon, who is also General Representative, is taking up an expanded role next month in Singapore as Lloyd’s Regional Director for Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa.

As reported last month, Ms Bryan will start her role as General Representative in Australia and Vanuatu on April 1, adding to her existing position as Head of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Asia-Pacific. Her elevation is among several leadership changes for the Australian business as Mr Mackinnon prepares for his Singapore posting.

“I welcome Tracey to the board as we bid farewell to Chris and wish him luck in his new role as Lloyd’s Regional Director for Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa,” Insurance Council CEO Andrew Hall said. “Chris has contributed a wealth of experience and provided insights on the global insurance market and reinsurance solutions for a wide variety of risks. We look forward to working with Tracey and to continue our valued relationship with Lloyd’s.”

The council says Ms Bryan was a member of the past two review committees for the industry’s code of practice.

She joined Lloyd’s in 2010 and has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, having managed claims and dispute resolution teams, conduct risk, compliance and legislative development.

She is also director of Lloyd’s Australia Limited and other Lloyd’s subsidiaries in the region.
