Public consultation on changes to the Motor Vehicle Insurance and Repair Industry Code of Conduct has been extended by eight weeks.  

The code administration committee – representing the Insurance Council of Australia and the Motor Trades Association – says the extension until June 23 follows feedback from industry and other stakeholders.  

The committee opened submissions last month on changes regarding sanctions for insurers and repairers, assessment estimation times, dispute resolution and the governance structure.
