McLardy McShane acquires Sydney Insurance Brokers

McLardy McShane Partners today announced it has acquired Sydney Insurance Brokers, creating a new joint venture headed by broker Dora Dimou as MD.

While the joint venture is called McLardy McShane Dimou, the trading name of Sydney Insurance Brokers, which has a team of four, will be retained, as will all current employees, and former Principal Mark Jenkinson will take a consultancy role and assist with the transition.

CEO Don McLardy says the acquisition strengthens the group’s position in the Sydney market and he is hopeful of announcing further expansion in NSW in "the very near future”.

“We are very excited about the continued expansion of the McLardy McShane Group, and extremely pleased to have a well-respected and highly experienced broker such as Dora to join us as a JV partner,” he said.

McLardy McShane has expanded its branches to now include Melbourne, Albury, Bendigo, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Dandenong, Horsham, Kerang, Perth, Rosebud, Shepparton, Swan Hill, Sydney, Tamworth and Warrnambool. In May, it added seven corporate authorised representatives in WA, Victoria and Queensland as part of its national expansion.

“We are pleased with the acquisition of Sydney Insurance Brokers by McLardy McShane Group and my team are very excited about the future,” Mr Jenkinson said.

The sale is effective on November 1.
