McLardy McShane has opened a branch in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, led by Matthew Kohler and Rhian Greaves.

The Lilydale office marks the broker’s 15th Victoria-based joint venture and is built around Peak Insurance, an authorised representative owned by Mr Kohler that it recently acquired.

Mr Kohler has more than 30 years’ industry experience and has been part of the broker’s operations since 2020.   

He says the move solidifies McLardy McShane’s presence in the region and is a “great opportunity to expand and plan for future growth”.  

“This expansion allows us to combine our shared knowledge and skills with the ongoing support from our head office, making McLardy McShane Yarra Valley an exciting new chapter in our growth,” Mr Kohler said. 

Mr Greaves joins from Marsh, where he was an AR and company director for nearly nine years. He is from the Yarra Valley region.  

McLardy McShane chief growth officer Nick McLardy says the business takes “great confidence in launching a partnership with two highly reputable people within our industry ... We have had the pleasure of working with Matthew over the past five years, so we know his character and value set aligns well with our business.”  

The expansion comes after McLardy McShane launched its first Queensland joint venture last month.
