Mansfield Awards presentation set for live webcast

The unveiling of the 2020 winners of the prestigious Mansfield Awards for claims excellence takes place tomorrow – and you can watch it live.

The winners in the four categories of personal lines, SME property and casualty, corporate property and casualty, and specialty will be revealed via webinar this year to observe COVID-19 social distancing measures.

The finalists and winner of the overall Gold Mansfield award will also be announced during the event.

Insurance News Publisher Terry McMullan, who founded the awards with LMI Group Chairman Allan Manning, says the complex final collation of the Gold Mansfield results showed a “very tight field, with only a few points separating the winner and runner-up”.

“The tight result is remarkable when you consider the number of responses received,” he said.

Brokers submitted more than 2300 survey responses ahead of this year’s awards, which are organised by Insurance News and LMI Group.

A not-for-profit event, the Mansfield Awards have been sponsored by NSW state insurer icare and Steadfast every year since they were launched in 2017.

Winners are calculated using official reports and surveys conducted by LMI, with the results weighted so all insurers are viewed equally. Unlike most awards focused on the insurance industry, companies and individuals are not invited to make submissions.

The 2020 category finalists are:

Personal lines: Allianz, Australian Seniors, Millennium Underwriting Agencies, RACT.

SME property and casualty: AFM, Catholic Church Insurances, Hollard Commercial Insurance, Vero.

Corporate property and casualty: Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Company, FM Global, Liberty Specialty Markets, Zurich Insurance (Australia) Limited.

Specialty: Global Transport Insurance, Interruption Underwriting Agencies (IUA), NTI, RentCover, TravelCard.
