Marsh has appointed John Donnelly as Global Head of Placement, effective from January.

Sydney-based Mr Donnelly, currently Head of Placement for Asia Pacific, will relocate to London for the role.

He will report to Marsh Specialty and Global Placement President Pat Donnelly, who says his depth of experience in structuring complex placements and designing innovative solutions will support Marsh’s continued growth.

“John has built a strong reputation as one of the leading and most respected placement brokers in the global market,” Mr Donnelly said.

The new role covers global responsibility for Marsh’s retail and wholesale broking activities, working closely with Marsh Specialty’s regional placement leaders.

Mr Donnelly began his career with Marsh in 1983, returning in 2013 after a four-year stint at Aon. He has over 40 years’ international experience in placement, risk and insurance.
