JAVLN appoints technology, finance chiefs

Insurance software provider JAVLN has appointed Peter Waring as Group Chief Technology Officer and Rosalie Lau as Group Chief Financial Officer.

CEO Dale Smith says the pair have the expertise to support the New Zealand-based company’s ambitions to make further inroads in the Australian market. Most recently, broker group BJS Insurance started using JAVLN’s client and policy management technology.

“They bring a wealth of experience that will enable us to continue our mission of being a technology enabler for insurance brokers, helping them become more productive, ensure compliance and make informed decisions,” he said.

Mr Waring will lead teams across the product portfolio: JAVLN, OfficeTech and Underwriter Central. He will also shape and execute the company’s technology strategy.

His career spans more than 26 years in the technology industry, having previously worked for Fortune 500 groups and tech companies at the start-up and scale-up stages.

“JAVLN is a high-growth, Australasian tech success story with a clear value proposition that is future-proofing the insurance industry,” Mr Waring said.

“I look forward to using the experience I’ve gained with its next stage of growth, building on the incredible success that’s already been achieved by the team.”

Ms Lau has a background in the technology and insurance intermediary sectors and was most recently Resilium CFO.

“Seeing how technology can increase efficiency, improve customer service and drive compliance in a landscape that is becoming ever more complex, that’s a critical industry challenge that JAVLN is addressing,” she said. “It’s my pleasure to join the team at this pivotal time to further support it in achieving that mission.”
