Jarrod Hill starts as IAG intermediated head
Jarrod Hill has taken up the role of IAG Intermediated Insurance Australia Group Executive, tasked with improving the performance of the division.
Mr Hill, whose appointment was announced in March, moves to IAG from Chubb, where he was Australia and New Zealand President for the past three years. Previously he was with Ace Insurance.
“I’ve talked a lot about the opportunity we have in our intermediated business here in Australia to drive a significant turnaround and I know Jarrod is excited to work with the team to deliver on that,” CEO Nick Hawkins said.
Mr Hill began his insurance career in the early 1990s with Commercial Union, which became CGU in 1998.
“I’m looking forward to working with partners and the IAG team to keep Australians and their businesses safe with simple, valuable product offerings that are digitally enabled, and which deliver sustainable and profitable growth to Australian businesses and provide protection for individuals,” he said.
IAG announced in November last year that it was splitting its Australian insurance operations into two. Direct Insurance Australia is led by Julie Batch.
In the group’s first annual results reported since then, Direct Insurance Australia made an insurance profit of $718 million, New Zealand achieved earnings of $305 million, while Intermediated Insurance Australia reported a $10 million loss.
