Insurance News to host insurtech seminar

Insurance News will hold a full-day seminar on August 6 exploring how to stay up to speed and seize opportunities in insurtech.

The event, which follows last month’s sold-out half-day strata seminar, will be at Dockside Cockle Bay Wharf at Sydney’s Darling Harbour.

Leaning in to new technology is key for insurance businesses seeking to distinguish themselves on service, pricing, offerings and reputation in a digital landscape. At this seminar, experts will examine what technology is available, and the immense benefits and unique challenges across all stages of the pipeline.

“Our seminars are already proving extremely popular,” Insurance News publisher Terry McMullan said. “This technology event provides the ideal opportunity for brokers and other industry professionals to hear from expert speakers on a range of critical issues.”

Expert speaker sessions will include: The Broker Challenge; Envisioning the Future; Are We Ready for Insurance 3.0?; Racing Against Regtech; and Does Technology Back Up Its Claims?

There will also be an insurtech pitch competition and a debate on Promise v Reality: Can Technology Really Change a People-Based Industry?

Speakers include Insurtech Australia CEO Simone Dossetor, NTI CEO Tony Clark, Austbrokers Countrywide MD Tim Considine, Evari CEO Daniel Fogarty, HDI Global claims manager Asia-Pacific David Lloyd, AAMC relationship manager Daniel Lukich, Cover Genius CEO Angus McDonald, 360 Underwriting Solutions director Denis Morrissey, BJS Insurance operations leader Dianne Phelan, Javln CEO Dale Smith, QBE Ventures head of emerging technology Alex Taylor, CGU EM broker relationships Peg Vaghaye, Marsh Pacific head of growth and digital Johannes Veldsman, and ZapCentral co-founder Lisa Woodley.

The event is sponsored by AAMC, SSP, Javln and Insurtech Australia, and attendees qualify for 5.5 NIBA CPD points and six ANZIIF CIP points.
