Insurance House expands with 'strategically timed' mergers
Melbourne-based Insurance House Group has expanded its presence in the Victorian capital and moved into SA through “strategically timed” mergers with PSB Insurance Brokers and Malcolm Hutson & Associates.
Insurance House completed the mergers yesterday, which it says are part of wider growth plans for the business this year.
“The two mergers are the first of our planned expansions in 2021,” GM Broking Scott Leis said in a statement today.
He says the expansions are “ultimately aimed at providing greater mobility and access to our clients and to ensure the greater delivery of professional service and advice in these challenging times”.
Financial details about the mergers were not provided.
Insurance House says the moves mean the business now has a new office in Melbourne’s eastern suburb of Blackburn and has established for the first time a presence in SA.
PSB Insurance Brokers offers a range of insurance solutions services such as cyber, life and aviation. It is located in Blackburn and has an office in Adelaide. MD Robert Viney will join Insurance House as Blackburn and North Adelaide Manager as part of the merger agreement.
Malcolm Hutson, Principal of Malcolm Hutson & Associates, which was previously based in the Melbourne suburb of Ormond, remains with the broking group and will operate out of the new Blackburn location. The broker offers solutions for commercial, industrial, construction, professional and property owner risk.
The mergers take Insurance House’s national network to 15 offices including its headquarters in East Melbourne.
Last October the business took a key stake in Commercial Insurance Group, an authorised representative based in the south-eastern Sydney suburb of Rockdale and months before that, it acquired Shepparton-based O’Sullivan Insurance Brokers, a rural brokerage in northern Victoria.
