Insurance House announces key acquisition
Insurance House has invested in Commercial Insurance Group (CIG), based in the south-eastern Sydney suburb of Rockdale as it grows its operations in the region.
The Melbourne-based company says it has taken partial equity ownership in CIG, which is already an authorised representative, adding to its existing presence in the Sydney central business district.
Insurance House says it will migrate its Sydney metro-based general book to CIG while the financial lines team will remain in the city.
MD Jay Fereday says the move will ensure general insurance brokers are located closer to their clients and will allow continued improvement in service and advice in challenging times.
“Under the leadership of Andrew Dawson, this will allow us to focus on growth in two key strategic areas, our financial lines business and regional NSW, where we’ve already seen significant growth,” he said.
In the past 12 months Insurance House has expanded into the local communities of Taree, Newcastle, Shepparton and Bendigo.
CIG Insurance Director Jeff Tyler says Abraham Tavares and Alvin Baduria will become part of the expanding CIG team.
“They are experienced industry professionals who have high profile within their client networks and the industry alike,” he said. “This addition allows us to further pursue our growth objectives whilst continuing to deliver high-level customer service and advice-based outcomes for our clients.”
Insurance House, which started in Echuca, has more than 200 staff employed across 13 metropolitan and rural offices and more than 40 authorised partners.
