INsight podcast: it's all about insurtech
The new insurtech section launched this week by insuranceNEWS.com.au is the focus of the latest edition of the INsight podcast.
INsight, hosted by Insurance News Managing Director Andrew Silcox, features the observations of Insurance News Publisher Terry McMullan, Managing Editor John Deex, our team of journalists, and occasional guests.
This week the panel discusses the reasons behind the new insurtech section, which was launched on Monday along with a slightly tweaked insuranceNEWS.com.au homepage design.
Mr McMullan says the move is linked to an acknowledgement that “the industry’s present and future is now inextricably tied to technology”.
“What we want to do is cover the insurtech sector as widely as we can, we want to illustrate the changes that it is bringing to the industry,” he said.
“Insurance has been slow to invest in insurtech but it’s racing ahead now and we think it’s important that people understand what’s happening.”
The podcast also recaps six separate court proceedings running on COVID-19 business interruption claims, and once again considers whether the Federal Budget will include an announcement on a cyclone reinsurance pool.
The panel also talks about payment redirection scams – what they are, and what you can do to prevent them damaging your business.
