INsight podcast: future for advice and more claims pain

The recently released Quality of Advice proposals paper makes for an interesting debate on the latest episode of the Insurance News podcast.

As previously reported, the paper suggests personal advice should apply more broadly and a “good advice” duty replace the “best interests” obligation under a proposed revamp that would have implications for insurers and brokers.

This week’s edition of INsight, hosted by Insurance News MD Andrew Silcox, features the observations of Chairman Terry McMullan, Managing Editor John Deex, Deputy Editor Wendy Pugh, and senior journalist Bernice Han.

The panel also discusses the latest APRA stats, 360 Underwriting's incoming Australia CEO, and the claims experience after major natural disasters.
