INsight podcast: federal budget fails to impress
A disappointing federal budget is the main topic of discussion on the latest Insurance News podcast.
As previously reported, $138.7 million was allocated over four years for disaster support, but this fell well short of measures called for in industry submissions.
This week’s edition of INsight, hosted by Insurance News MD Andrew Silcox, features the observations of chairman Terry McMullan, managing editor John Deex, deputy editor Wendy Pugh and senior journalists Bernice Han and Miranda Maxwell.
Also discussed by the panel are ICA discussions over "partnership arrangements" with government to address affordability, Allianz's revamp of residential flood cover, and the latest inquiry into insurance.
