INsight podcast: busy week for broker cluster groups
A slew of announcements from broker cluster groups was the key discussion point for the INsight podcast this week.
As previously reported by insuranceNEWS.com.au, AUB Group has unveiled The Insurance Alliance – an option for brokers that are not equity members of Austbrokers to access AUB’s suite of services and systems.
This was swiftly followed by the launch of Broker Co-op, a new cluster group targeting independent brokers and providing services through a partnership agreement with The Insurance Alliance.
Meanwhile Steadfast has continued its expansion drive by taking up a majority shareholding in global broker group unisonSteadfast.
“I think it’s very significant, we are seeing the beginning of quite a bit of change in the broking sector,” Insurance News Publisher Terry McMullan said.
“I certainly think there is room for a new cluster group since the Steadfast/IBNA merger, but I don’t think you are going to see organisations as large as Steadfast or AUB.”
INsight, hosted by Insurance News Managing Director Andrew Silcox, features the observations of Mr McMullan, Managing Editor John Deex, our team of journalists, and occasional guests.
