Industry is ready to Dive In again

The annual Lloyd’s global Dive In Festival is set to mark its fifth year next week with events in Australia and around the world to promote greater inclusion and diversity in the industry.

More than a dozen events will take place in the major Australian capitals and Auckland from Tuesday to Thursday.

Lloyd’s says #inclusionimpact, the theme of the upcoming festival, aims to build on the progress achieved in last year’s Awareness into Action campaign.

A record number of companies have pledged their support and more industry professionals are taking part, according to General Representative in Australia Chris Mackinnon.

Ten insurance companies in Australia have signed the Inclusive Behaviours in Insurance Pledge, an industry initiative from a Dive In event last year.

“Dive In has helped highlight the business case for diverse and inclusive workplaces and provided practical ideas and inspiration for how to bring about positive change,” Mr Mackinnon said.

“It has grown far beyond its roots to include some of the world’s largest insurance companies, brokers, underwriters and associated service providers.”

Dive In started in 2015 in London and has since enjoyed rapid growth with an ever-expanding list of cities embracing the cause. This year is set to be the biggest yet with 67 cities in 34 countries taking part.

The festival in Australia will kick off in Sydney and Melbourne.
