icare personal injury executive departs

NSW state insurer icare says Group Executive, Personal Injury Beth Uehling is departing the organisation after five years to take up the next opportunity in her career.

Group executive Rob Craig, who joined icare in November 2015, will take over the position on an interim basis while a search process is undertaken.

“Ms Uehling played a key role in delivering changes that have improved injury outcomes and provided a better experience for injured workers in NSW,” icare said today.

“A recruitment process will start immediately for the permanent role of Group Executive, Personal Injury, for a collaborative leader with strong workers insurance experience to enable icare’s continued focus on improving services and outcomes for injured workers.”

Ms Uehling has more than two decades experience in the insurance and finance sectors and 10 years in workers’ compensation.

icare is also searching for a new CEO following the departure of John Nagle early last month amid intense scrutiny over the insurer’s performance and his approach to potential conflicts of interest.

Interim CEO Don Ferguson has recently acknowledged the “turbulent time icare is going through” and says management is committed to finding solutions to improve the organisation.
