IAG confirms intermediated leadership team line-up
IAG has formally appointed three EGMs to its Intermediated Insurance Division leadership team, which is to be headed by incoming industry veteran Jarrod Hill.
CEO Nick Hawkins unveiled the split of the Australian business into two divisions, Intermediated and Direct, in November.
Today, IAG confirmed that going forward Damien Gallagher will lead its CGU business, Brad Robson will lead agency partnerships and Andrew Beer will lead its WFI business.
The team will report to Mr Hill, who will join from Chubb in September to lead the Intermediated division when Amanda Whiting, who is acting in the role, becomes CEO New Zealand. Former Chief Customer Officer Julie Batch now heads the Direct division.
“Today’s appointments reinforce our focus on growing a strong intermediated business,” Ms Whiting said today. “We brought together underwriting, brand and customer to create a better intermediated proposition that supports a simpler, stronger and more resilient IAG.”
The business portfolios will “ensure we deliver scale and consistency,” she says. “Each portfolio is underpinned by sound pricing, performance and governance and a claims team that delivers exceptional customer experience.”
Melbourne-based Mr Gallagher held senior positions at CGU for six years before becoming IAG’s EM Business Underwriting in late 2017.
Sydney-based Mr Robson has been at IAG for more than six years, including as national head of Underwriting Agencies.
Melbourne-based Mr Beer has been at the insurer for seven years, most recently heading AGRI and SME Solutions. He formerly spent more than a decade at CGU.
IAG says its new operating model provides greater clarity on roles and responsibilities while being more aligned to IAG brands and customer offerings.
Luke Boyle has been formally appointed EGM, Partners & Platforms, leading health, financial services and other partnerships. Before taking the role six months ago, he was IAG’s EM Distribution Partnering for three years.
Also in Mr Hill’s team is Tim Rafton, who has spent around two decades at IAG and now heads Intermediated Claims, and Christa Marjoribanks is acting head of Product, Pricing and Governance.
