Health fund expands distribution deal with Allianz
Non-profit health fund HCF has started offering home and motor insurance products under an expanded partnership with Allianz.
The health fund already had an arrangement with Allianz to offer travel cover, selling it as an agent for the insurer.
HCF says the home and motor products are designed to deliver comprehensive coverage, flexibility and value after a member survey found 95% of those aged 25 and older prioritise affordable cover.
“We know amid cost-of living pressures consumers are making necessary budget decisions such as cutting back on car journeys to save on fuel and working more days a week from home,” COO Lorraine Thomas said.
“The new car and home products prioritise affordability and value for our members, giving them the ability to tailor their cover as their needs and budgets change.”
The Allianz-backed home product covers buildings, contents or combined buildings and contents, with flexible options to tailor coverage. Motor cover has comprehensive and third-party options.
Allianz GM consumer partners Dan Tully says the collaboration with HCF underscores the insurer’s commitment to deliver “trusted and reliable” cover.
“We’re excited to work together to create value for HCF members through tailored insurance solutions and a dedicated and seamless claims experience that helps members get back on the road or in their homes quicker,” he said.
HCF, or Hospitals Contribution Fund of Australia, has about 1.94 million members, according to its 2022-23 review.
