Specialty insurer HDI Global has bolstered its senior team with two new hires in Sydney.

Anja Dix-Eberhardt has been appointed Head of Risk and Compliance while Nick Newton takes on the role of Head of Finance and Operations.

Ms Dix-Eberhardt, also branch chief risk officer at HDI, was formerly QBE’s enterprise risk management senior manager.

Prior to that she spent six years at HDI owner Talanx in Germany before moving to EY’s Sydney office for a year in 2014, followed by a three-year stint at TAL heading strategic enterprise risk management.

Mr Newton joins HDI after more than four years at 1Cover Travel Insurance, where he was most recently CFO. He also worked at QBE briefly a decade ago.

Both new recruits report to HDI GM Mark Fleiser.
