HDI Australia shakes up regional leadership
Stefan Feldmann will take an expanded leadership role at HDI Global in Australia and New Zealand, with responsibility for commercial and specialty business, while Mark Fleiser will depart the insurer.
Sydney-based Mr Fleiser joined company in 2009 and has been MD HDI Global Specialty Australia for almost two years.
He will leave “under mutual agreement” at the end of the month following “a restructuring which has impacted local operations”, HDI Global said today.
Mr Feldmann, also based in Sydney, joined the commercial insurer as MD underwriting about a year after Mr Fleiser.
He has been HDI Global Australia MD since 2012 and from next month will be overall MD for HDI Global Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Feldmann says aligning the commercial and specialty operations in the region marks “a clear direction towards a more efficient organisational structure and unified value proposition”, improving HDI’s ability to act as a true “one-stop shop”.
The branch grew and delivered strong results under Mr Fleiser’s leadership, HDI says.
“He says the last nearly 15 years with the company have been truly rewarding and the successes that have been achieved personally and by the company are to a great extent testament to the incredible team that supported him and the business over the many years,” the company said.
Executive board member Ralph Beutter says the new arrangement “allows us to facilitate services for brokers and clients”.
“I’d like to wish Mark all the best for his future. Under his leadership, HDI’s specialty operation has developed into a trusted expert with a strong proposition for clients in Australia and New Zealand,” Mr Beutter said.
