HDI Global Specialty has promoted Dylan Jones to the role of Head of Aviation, Australia and New Zealand.

Brisbane-based Mr Jones, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the aviation sector, was most recently Senior Underwriter Aviation at Talanx-owned HDI and formerly held the roles of Aviation Senior Underwriter at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions and Senior Broker, Aviation at Insurance Brokers Australia.

His promotion follows the move by his predecessor Jamie Bowes to Stockholm to head HDI’s General Aviation centre of competence. HDI is now seeking to recruit a Senior Aviation Underwriter, based in either Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.

HDI’s Head of Australian Branch Mark Fleiser said he was delighted to internally promote someone of the “calibre of Dylan” to the leadership role.

“Dylan is well equipped to take on the task of leading further expansion of our general aviation activities in the region off the back of an already well-established operation,” he said.

Mr Jones, who holds a commercial pilot’s licence, says he is looking forward to growing the aviation team, which was established in 2019.

“Having been part of building very strong foundations, I am excited about now having the opportunity of being able to drive forward and further develop our strategy for profitable growth.”
