Guy Carpenter unveils new catastrophe advisory group
Reinsurance brokerage Guy Carpenter has launched an Asia Pacific Catastrophe Advisory Group, to be led by Sydney-based Senior Vice President Jeremy Waite.
The operation will offer clients “direct access” to Guy Carpenter’s catastrophe expertise and capabilities, including in-house analytics experts, scientific partners, and public-sector specialists.
“Working with companies across the Asia Pacific region, the team will develop innovative solutions and provide access to new sources of capital to manage these exposures, as well as help to address the growing impact of climate change,” a statement from Guy Carpenter says.
Mr Waite has more than 25 years’ experience in the (re)insurance sector spanning underwriting, actuarial and broking roles across all classes and catastrophe modeling in the UK and Australia.
He will maintain his current role leading the property treaty broking team at Guy Carpenter for Australia and New Zealand.
“In responding to the escalating risks stemming from climate change and the increasing demands of both regulators and stakeholders, our new Asia Pacific Catastrophe Advisory Group will provide the depth and breadth of expertise needed to help clients become more resilient against the changing nature of risks,” Guy Carpenter Asia Pacific CEO Tony Gallagher said.
Guy Carpenter is a Marsh McLennan company.
