Grinners: Suncorp wins big at NZ awards night

Suncorp had a lot to celebrate at the annual New Zealand insurance awards in Auckland last night.

Vero won the intermediated insurance company award for the third time in five years, while joint venture partner AA Insurance won two major awards and Suncorp NZ took home one.

The annual awards night, which is run by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, took place in front of more than 400 insurance professionals.

AA Insurance again took out the direct general insurance company category, as well as the innovation of the year prize, while the gong for large broking company of the year was awarded to Insurance Advisernet New Zealand

National brokerage Runacres Insurance was named small-medium broking company of the year, and Suncorp New Zealand won for excellence in workplace diversity and inclusion.

Fidelity Life was again crowned life insurance company of the year, while Fidelity’s Ben Holloway won young insurance professional of the year.

• Life Insurance Company of the Year: Fidelity Life

• Innovation of the Year : AA Insurance

• Professional Services Firm of the Year: Sedgwick New Zealand

• Service Provider to the Insurance Industry: JB Hi-Fi

• Excellence in Workplace Diversity and Inclusion: Suncorp New Zealand
