Government insurer steps up hunt for industry partner
The Defence Service Homes Insurance Scheme (DSH Insurance) is searching for an industry partner to work on software solutions and management and administration services.
Potential partners have until April 1 2022 to tender for the opportunity, details of which can be found here.
DSH Insurance is an Australian Government insurer that provides comprehensive home building insurance and other insurance services to members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), ex-service members and their families.
It is self-funded through premium, investment and commission income and has not required Government funding since its inception in 1919.
“DSH Insurance is required by Government to conduct periodic reviews of its operations to ensure it is providing insurance products in the most efficient and effective way to the benefit of policyholders in a competitive industry environment,” DSH Insurance said.
“DSH Insurance is approaching the market to explore different commercial options, partners and software with a view to strengthen its business and ensure smooth running of its ongoing operations.”
In 2020, the Federal Government expanded eligibility criteria to enable 300,000 additional ADF and ex-service members to access DSH Insurance cover, creating an opportunity to extend the market base.
