Ex-intel officer to head Zurich cyber team

Zurich Resilience Solutions has appointed Dan Elliott as head of cyber resilience, leading a new function within the business.

Mr Elliott, a former Canadian Security Intelligence Service officer, will specialise in providing cyber risk intelligence and advisory services to businesses across Australia.

He has moved to Sydney from Canada, where he was the company’s principal of cybersecurity risk advisory.

“I am delighted to lead and continue bolstering the ZRS cyber resilience unit in Australia,” he said. “As the threat and sophistication of cyber risk continues to rise, it is critical that businesses are equipped with the tools and knowledge required to navigate and build resilience.”

Alongside cyber, Zurich Resilience Solutions helps governments and businesses mitigate supply chain and climate change risks. It says it completes more than 3600 underwriting assessments and risk improvements a year in Australia, across motor fleet, property, marine and construction.
