Envest adds regional brokerage Macey to Aviso stable

Envest Group has acquired a majority stake in regional NSW business Macey Insurance Brokers, which is now part of Aviso Group.

Nowra-based Macey has more than 3500 business clients in the Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands, Macarthur and Illawarra regions.

“We are very excited to be joining the Envest Group to help us achieve our growth ambitions and provide us with personalised support,” said director Brendan Goddard, who specialises in complex aviation risks.

Envest CEO Greg Mullins welcomed Mr Goddard and fellow director Donna Dykstra, who is based in Bowral, to the Aviso network.

He says the brokerage has a strong brand and presence in its market.

“Macey is already well known to our Aviso Group, complementing the already extensive network of partners throughout Australia and now in the South Coast and southern NSW region,” Mr Mullins said.

“Brendan, Donna and the team at Macey have joined us at a very exciting time as we embark on the next stage of our journey.

“We continue to invest in and partner with like-minded people who share our group aspirations.”

Macey was founded in the 1970s and offers business packs, management liability, public and product liability, professional indemnity, business interruption, cyber liability, commercial motor and workers’ compensation cover.

It acquired Kiama-based broking business Greg Walsh & Associates in 2021 and employs a team of about 24.

Brisbane-based Envest was acquired by the UK’s Ardonagh Group for $482 million in late 2022. Its Aviso Group includes 10 broking businesses with more than 40 offices, 500 employees and $934 million in gross written premium.
